Biography
Captain Donald A. Evans served in the U.S. Army Infantry during the Vietnam War. He was killed in action (KIA) 30 January 1968. He had served in the Army between 10 and 11 years. He died in hostile action at Pleiku, South Vietnam. HIs unit: Senior Advisor, 11th ARVN Ranger Battalian, ADV Team 21, MACV Advisors. On the Virtual Wall, a fellow soldier wrote in 2006: "Captain Evans is still very much remembered and missed. I served with him and was with him when he was killed in action. A true leader who lived up to the Ranger motto: "Rangers Lead the Way!" His medals/awards: Combat Infantryman's Badge, Purple Heart, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was from Augusta, KS.
