Biography
Sergeant Clifton Wayne Bishop served in the U. S. Army from 2003 to 2009. He was Crew Chief on an Apache Longbow Helicopter and served with the 82nd Airborne Combat Aviation Brigade—Alpha Company 1-82 ARB. He served in Korea for a year and in Iraq for 18 months. He was a highly decorated soldier who contributed significantly in the war against terror in "Operation Iraqi Freedom." SGT Bishop received an honorable discharge in 2009. His medals/awards include: Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon. He was a graduate of Wichita Area Technical College with Aviation Maintenance and Power Plant Suction certificates. At the time of his death, he was Warehouse Supervisor at The Yard Store.
