Biography

Mahlon was born in Ohio; educated at Hiram College in Hiram, OH, before he enlisted in the Army (Infantry) in World War I.  

His period of service ran from 17 October 1918 until 5 April 1922.  

During the war, he served in Germany as a gunner.  He was an excellent marksman.  

He received an honorable discharge and his character is described as "excellent."
