Biography

Navy Lieutenant Long served 30 months in the U. S. Navy during World War II, March 1944 to September 1946.  He served both in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.  

He was Commanding Officer, PC 461, at the age if 20 years, 9 months.  Decommissioned ship September 1946.

The PC 461 was a Submarine Chaser.

He retired as a Lieutenant after 20 years of U.S. Naval Reserve duty on 19 November 1985.
