Biography
Gerald Merwin served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957 - 1959.
He was stationed at Oceanside, CA.
Included in his honors as a Marine—he was awarded a Sharpshooter medal, July 1957.
After service, he went to work for Texaco Refinery in El Dorado and retired on 1 June 1993 after 34 years.
He was valedictorian of the Towanda High School graduation Class of 1955, and he graduated from Butler County Community College before entering the Marine Corps.
Outside of years spent in the Marine Corps, he lived in Butler County all of his life.
Gerald is missed dearly by his family.
