Biography

Tech Sergeant Eugene Harold Nellans, Butler County Draftee #1 in 1941, served from 1941 to 1945 in World War II.  

He trained in Virginia and served in Paris, France, for one year.  From 1942 to 1945, he intercepted all phone calls to and from General Eisenhower at a point 20 miles behind the front line from South Africa, North Africa, Italy, and France (at the end of World War II).
