Biography
Army Master Sergeant Roland Davis was born in Wichita, KS, on 19 December 1939 to Harold and Marjorie Davis. He joined the U.S. Army on 12 August 1959 and served for 17 years.
During his tenure in the military he served three years in Germany and an additional two years in the Republic of Vietnam (1967-1968 and 1970-1971).
On 20 August 1962, he married Treva June Greninger. Together they had ten children: 3 sons and 7 daughters.
After his retirement from the military in 1976, he and his family settled in El Dorado, KS. In 1981, his wife passed away after a chronic illness. He then raised the nine children remaining in the home until his death on 13 June 1990.
A Field Artilleryman, Master Sergeant Davis also qualified to earn a Ranger Tab and Airborne Badge, and he was a Jump Master.
