Biography

A veteran of World War II (1943 to 1946), Clyde H. Gibson was born in Florence, KS 14 April 1959.

He attended Lincoln Elementary School, El Dorado High School, and El Dorado Junior College.  He was employed by Montgomery Wards in the early years of his career, before becoming an agent for State Farm Insurance Company.  He married Clodine Krutsinger in 1936. His untimely death happened by drowning at Lake Bluestem in 1962.

A bench on the Liberty side of the Butler County Freedom Memorial was donated by the Gibson's only son, Gary, and Clodine, Clyde's wife.

The inscription reads:
