Biography

Becky Matticks was the Director of the Butler County Historical Museum for several years
in the early part of this century.

She was the wife of Sergeant Rick Matticks, a member of the U. S. Army Reserve located here in
El Dorado.  Rick served at least two tours in Iraq.

The words of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (spoken during World War II) yet today express appreciation to wives and mothers like Becky:

They have given their sons to the military services,
They have stoked the furnaces and hurried the factory wheels.
They have made the planes and welded the tanks, riveted the ships and rolled the shells.

Freedom is made possible because of men and women like the Matticks family.
