Biography

First Lieutenant Jack D. Smith served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  

Jack was raised in El Dorado, KS, and graduated from
El Dorado High School.   His mother, Blanche Smith, lived in El Dorado for many years.  Jack was uncle of H. V. Chapin, Augusta, KS.  He was Great Uncle of David Chapin, of El Dorado; Marilyn Warren, Dallas, TX; and Curt Chapin, California.  The initial "D" in Jack's name stands for "Duncan," his mother's maiden name.
