Biography
Ensign Jack Sloderbeck Sr. served in the U.S. Navy during World War II—1943 - 1946. He served in the Pacific Campaign and his ship was the USS West Virginia (Battleship BR-48). He served in six major battles including the invasion of the Philippines, Leyte Gulf, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa.
In addition to a Purple Heart, he received the following medals: World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal (4 stars), Philippine Liberation Medal (2 stars).
